When considering the purchase of a futon mattress, there are some specific points to consider. We will be covering several of these points here.

The first and foremost concern is comfort. Any mattress, no matter of make or model, must be comfortable to you or it is not worth any price. Since you can find a futon with many if not all of the same features as a traditional mattress, why would you need to spend more for the same or less, in some cases? In fact, you can also get a futon in many of the popular ‘green’ styles now with less off-gassing agents and non-sustainably grown products.
3. Durability
While this is just a matter of fact, your mattress should be able to have some lasting power. You don’t want your mattress to last just a few years or so, even with proper care. Your mattress should be able to last anywhere from 5-10 years or more. With newer materials and manufacturing, it isn’t the case that your futon will get flattened like those old ones from years ago. The newer futons are much more like a traditional mattress in this regard.
There you have it, three great reasons to consider a futon mattress for your next bed. Even if you don’t plan on having it in a guest or spare room, your futon will give you many nights of great rest. The added flexibility that a futon couch can give you is just a bonus.
